Finding Jam

So I just ran about 2.25 miles at the gym in my apartment complex today, and it felt great ;) I really need to run more often haha I know this is completely unrelated to the sims in any way, but I just felt like talking about my great athletic success! Oh yea, this is remotely sims related - I'm working to get back in the swing of things and be more active! So I guess this is hello again :) 

Oh, and side tid bit - I just watched Taylor Lautner's SNL skits/monologue online and whew, is he a hottie! (hence the profile picture <3)
Twilight, anyone? I hate to sound like a typical crazed fan, but yes. I have to admit it, I do have a bit of a sore spot for it. But I would say I'm definitely Team Jacob haha (again, hence the profile picture) Alright, enough rambling and on with the simming!

Wow, I've pretty much abandoned my livejournal, sad times ): Junior year has been stressing me out! And I feel terrible for just dropping everything where I left it, including the round robin legacy. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who continue to read my legacies, even though there are practically cobwebs collecting on my page! haha. I hope to post a little more often, if not updating my own legacy, reading and commenting on everyone else's lovely legacies :)

Okay, so a couple new TV obsessions:

Gossip Girl - so I just got back into the show, after telling myself I'd never watch it again because of all the drama, but I let myself get sucked back in, haha.
Vampire Diaries - amazinggg new TV show. Stephen is such a hottieeee!
Castle - for some reason, no one's ever heard of this show lol If you know what this is, great for you! And if not, GO CHECK IT OUT. It's one of the best shows :)
Flash Forward - this looks interesting, I've only seen a few episodes, and so far, veryyy suspenseful.
Bones - has and always will be my favorite show.

I am so freakin excited. This year is going to be epic, my friends and I are planning on scaring all the neighborhood kids :) I figured I was done trick-or-treating, so now the real fun begins lol The only downside is that I live on a circle, so not a lot of trick-or-treaters come around. I originally wanted to be a deranged doctor, with a bloody coat, latex gloves, and a mask but I think that's going to be too expensive. So I think I'm going to paint my face as a creepy clown :) What are you guys going to do?

Wow! There are so many things I need to update, so little time! First of all, I really need to finish my generation of the Round Robin (sorry to everyone who is participating in that, I plan on finishing that up really soon!) I also need to update my Asylum, and my poor poor legacy which I've abandoned for so long DDDD:

Despite the Round Robin taking priority, I've been having way too much fun with my Asylum, so here's a little teaser for the next update. I promise I'll update everything I'm currently working on as soon as I get the time! Homework is just eating my life D:

The Sims 3 Round Robin Legacy:
The Merle Family

simfulness has decided to let me take over organization of the Round Robin legacy.
So basically, I'm trying to organize a 10 generation legacy, Round Robin style.

A Round Robin Legacy is where each generation is played by a different person.
It's lots of fun because everyone gets to contribute, with much less work on any one person :)
The Process:
I will start out with the first generation, and as soon as all of the founder's children age into YA, the heir will be voted for via an heir poll. Then, I will upload the heir for the next person to begin generation 2! (and so on and so forth, until all 10 generations are complete.) Here are the original round robin rules - they were made for TS2, but we will be modifying them for TS3.

All generations will be posted at ts3legacies with the full post in the user's journal. These posts will be tagged "round robin: merle" so it'll be easier to find all updates. That way, if you happened to forget who's journal the legacy is currently being updated in, or don't want to have to keep up with that, you can simply go to ts3legacies and click on the tag. Does that make sense? xD

The rules we will be playing by:

1. You can use money cheats, if you'd like. But in my opinion, the challenge of being poor is more fun, haha. It's up to you!
2. You must have at least two kids, in order for there to be a vote. Feel free to have as many kiddies as you'd like, the more the merrier!
3. All traits must be randomly rolled, just like a regular legacy. You may choose their Lifetime Wish.
4. No playable sims are allowed to be married into the legacy, only townies! All the more fun to give them a makeover once they move in, right? ;)
5. Family Trait Rule: every heir must have the Kleptomaniac trait.
6. If someone drops out, the next person on the list will take their spot.

A guide on how to upload a sim as a .sim file:
**** if the sim is wearing any CC, please be sure to upload it in a .rar with the .sim file.
That way the next person can choose to download the CC they came with or not,
but at least they'd have the option.

1. Click on a mirror in-game and choose "Change Appearance".
2. In the bottom left, click on the circle with three dots. [reference picture]
3. Click on Save Sim to Bin, the picture of the folder. [reference picture]
4. Then go to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SavedSims. You should find a .sim file labeled with your sim's name.
5. Upload using a file sharing website. I recommend box.net.
6. Then link to it for the next person to download.

How to install the sim into your game:

1. Download the sim file.
2. Place .sim file in your My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SavedSims folder.

I've started making some custom T-shirts, mainly because I wanted some funny shirts for my teen kids to wear. But I enjoyed it so much, I eventually made a bunch of them and decided I'd share them with you :) They are packaged in the color shown, but you can recolor however you want.

erykahfairy and I created a new Sims 3 community for posting legacies.
I know there are a couple others out there, but the more the merrier right? We wanted to provide a place that people could post as many updates, as often as they'd like with no restrictions.

So voila! We bring you ts3legacies. It is open for posts as of now :D
